IDC MarketScape

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.

HCL is thrilled to announce that we have been positioned as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Enterprise Automated Software Quality and Continuous Testing for Digital Execution 2022 Vendor Assessment (Doc #US47097621, March 2022)! This is a major recognition for HCLSoftware. HCLSoftware is a division of HCL Technologies (HCL) that operates its primary software business. The products that were evaluated as part of IDC’s research include HCL OneTest Studio and HCL OneTest Embedded, along with HCL AppScan, HCL Launch and HCL Accelerate.

24 vendors were evaluated for this report and were positioned across multiple criteria and two axis – current capabilities or how well a vendor is aligned to customer needs, and future strategies or how well a vendor’s future strategy aligns with what customers will require in 3-5 years. HCL’s position as a Leader reflects solidly on our commitment to driving these products forward and fulfilling the needs of the DevOps marketspace.

The IDC MarketScape report provides guidance for purchase decisions in the ASQ market. Read the report excerpt to see why HCL was named a Leader – and after you read the report why not give us a call us to find out how our solutions can help you!

The IDC MarketScape makes mention of the skills shortage in software development and highlights the benefits of low-code and no-code solutions that incorporate robust testing capabilities as one potential means of bridging this gap. This is particularly true with the emergence of “citizen developers,” who have business expertise and little to no coding experience but who build applications for consumption.

We believe HCL OneTest can help provide a solution to this challenge with its ability to offer no-code test development.

During its research, IDC saw clients repeatedly highlight the need for continuous testing, agile practices, and continuous integration in their drive for quality software development. These needs helped drive evaluation criteria regarding end-to-end DevOps and software quality solutions.

We cannot mention every good thing the IDC MarketScape had to say about us, you’ll have to read the report excerpt to find out all the details!

To summarize, if you are looking for any of these capabilities in a Secure DevOps platform, you should get in touch:

  1. Tightly integrated broad portfolio spanning the complete DevOps lifecycle
  2. Easy to consume with low-code/no-code capabilities
  3. Open architecture with easy to use open-source integrations
  4. Cloud native solutions hostable in your cloud of choice including HCL’s own HCL Now offering

In the ever-evolving DevOps world, The IDC MarketScape represents an evaluation of HCL’s capabilities at the time of the report. However, we are not resting on our accolades and are continuing to build solutions to meet the ever-growing demands of our customers and the market. API Testing Kubernetes: Transparent Remoting Using HCL OneTest
Testing in a cloud and containerized world is often very difficult. One of the painful tasks that testers have to face is that once the containers are deployed, some of their APIs might remain accessible but others — the internal ones — are not reachable anymore.
