Cost-saving initiatives are more important than ever as global crises force employees to work at home amid falling revenues and impacts on business continuity. As fiscal scrutiny increases, companies are recognizing the significant operational and financial costs of having too many tools.
In the first of three webinars, Dan Imbach and Dan Paquette collaborated to produce, Radical Simplicity: 5 Steps to Reduce Endpoint Management Sprawl, introducing why organizations consider tool consolidation, the financial benefits of doing so, and the steps organizations can take to ensure they acquire the best endpoint management solution to satisfy their needs. The five steps include defining the scope, performing a current inventory of tools, documenting functional requirements, surveying the market, and selecting the best solution. Once the solution is identified, most organizations must financially justify the cost of extricating multiple tools and implementing the new solution.
In the next webinar in the series, we will review how to create a compelling business case by quantifying infrastructure cost savings, productivity improvements, and operational efficiencies. By quantifying the benefits and associated implementation costs, the potential cost savings can be clearly articulated to decision-makers. Cy Englert, an HCL Value Consultant, will be explaining how to build a compelling business case for BigFix on June 4th, 2020.

In the last webinar in the series, Jason Walker, a BigFix Lab Services Consultant, will discuss the implementation of BigFix at HCL GIT (Global Information Technology), – which is HCL’s IT organization. HCL GIT used six different tools to manage more than 97,000 servers and workstations around the globe (as of September 2020, GIT now manages more than 108,000 endpoints). By consolidating tools and standardizing on BigFix, HCL GIT now enjoys a single, highly integrated, and scalable endpoint management solution. As a result, HCL has reduced software spend, reduced infrastructure complexity, simplified staff scheduling, increased visibility to roaming workstations, shortened patch cycles, and streamlined endpoint management operations.
