It’s hard to believe that AppScan V10 was announced more than three months ago. You may recall my March 17th blog, which recapped all of our V10 enhancements. We can agree that a lot has changed during the past three months, but HCL AppScan’s commitment to technological innovation has remained extremely consistent. And. I’m really proud to say the AppScan Team didn’t miss a beat adjusting to the new normal of working from home.

In this blog, I spotlight key AppScan V.10.0.1 enhancements, by product line. I also encourage you to attend our “AppScan Tuesdays” special event on June 30^th, where we will provide additional details about many of the new capabilities that are outlined below.

HCL AppScan Enterprise V10.0.1 Enhancements  

V10.0.1 enhancements for AppScan Enterprise include the following:

• New capabilities that improve accuracy and coverage for Automatic Action-Based Exploring.
• A series of new testing capabilities that include: Improved error page detection for more accurate testing results, increased number of Directory Guessing options for greater coverage and new security rules.
• Issue consolidation capabilities that consolidate frequently-occurring Issues, resulting in a more compact set of results for you to review and manage. More importantly, consolidation reduces the overall number of Issues without losing the important detail that you require.
• New compliance reporting that supports the latest DISA Standard Report V4R10.

HCL AppScan Standard V10.0.1 Enhancements

V10.0.1 enhancements for AppScan Standard include the following:

• AppScan Connect updates that permit you to download templates (SCANT) files, in addition to scan files, from AppScan Enterprise. AppScan Connect’s search capabilities associated with file downloading from AppScan on Cloud and AppScan Enterprise have also been enhanced.
• Improved and more precise coverage for Automatic Action-Based Exploring.
• A series of new testing capabilities that include: improved error page detection for more accurate test results, increased number of Directory Guessing options for greater coverage, enhanced validation for multi-step testing and new security rules.
• Issue consolidation capabilities that consolidate frequently-occurring Issues, resulting in a more compact set of results for you to review and manage. More importantly, consolidation reduces the overall number of Issues without losing the important detail that you require.
• New compliance reporting that supports the latest DISA Standard Report V4R10.

HCL AppScan Source V10.0.1 Enhancements

V10.0.1 enhancements for AppScan Source include the following:

• Support for four new languages: Scala, React.JS, Kotlin and Swift.
• Command Line Interface level Delta capabilities that allow you to easily check what’s been fixed and what’s been newly introduced between scans.
• New compliance reporting that supports the latest DISA Standard Report V4R10.
• User quality of life improvements that enhance support for proxies when working with the cloud license server and permit you to use self-signed certificates for the on-premise licensing server.

June 2020 HCL AppScan on Cloud Enhancements

Calendar Q2 enhancements for AppScan on Cloud (ASoC) include the following:

• Support for four new SAST languages: Scala, React.JS, Kotlin and Swift.
• All the DAST enhancements that are mentioned in the AppScan Enterprise section above.
• An enhanced IAST Java agent that improves security, stability and performance.
• Support for Visual Studio 2017 and Visual Studio 2019 C++ projects.
• Webhooks capabilities have been added to AppScan on Cloud’s API, permitting you to receive notifications about events that occur in ASoC.
• Numerous user experience enhancements.
